Speed
Speed is a mearsure of har far you travel and in what time. It is calculated by:
Speed = Distance / Time
It is mearsured in miles per hour or metres per second. To work out speed you need to know the distance travelled and the time taken. For example: if I travelled 15 metres in 3 seconds I would be travelling at (15/3) 5 m/s.
A distance time graph is a way of plotting distance against time. A slope on the graph shows the speed. The steeper the slope, the faster it is going. If there is a straight line, then it has stopped. If there is a curved line going up, the object s accelerating. If there is a curved slope going down then it is deaccelerating. If there is a slope going down, then the object is going backwards.
