Displacement Reactions

Reactivity Series

A displacement reaction is a reaction where a more reactive metal takes the place of a less reactive one. For Example:

Zinc Sulphate + Calcium > Calcium Sulphate + Zinc

Copper Chloride + Iron > Iron Chloride + Copper

Lead Nitrate + Aluminum > Aluminum Nitrate + Lead

Use the reactivity series to determine whether a metal is more or less reactive than another.
