Ears allow us to hear. Inside our ear is an ear drum. This vibrates when we hear a noise. When our ear drum vibrates, the hairs in our cochlea vibrate which sends a message to the brain. An auditory rating is how much we can here. Humans can here between 20 - 20000 htz. As you get older, your ear drum gets warn out and cannot hear high sounds. You can take the audiory test on the right to see how high you can hear. Animals like bats and dolphins can hear over 120000 htz!
