KS3 Science Revision

In a reaction, no atoms are lost or gained, they are just rearranged. This means that the number of atoms in the reactants is the same as the number in the product. With symbol equations, the atoms do not always appear balanced so we have to balance them ourselves by adding quantaties in front of the substances.
